ABOUT WELLMINSTER
16 students gathered in a converted barn in August of 1858 under the tutelage of Rev. Hummell Wellminster. The mission of the Wellminster Day School was 'to understand the past, to create the future' and to prepare young men of the Wellminster Township for their roles as leaders of their community. Today,
Wellminster Academy prepares over five hundred girls and boys from every region of the nation for success in college, industry, arts, citizenship, service and life in a twenty-first century state of the art coeducational setting.
Wellminster maintains the highest standards of achievement in academics, athletics and the arts while focusing on the individual student. Our blend of meaningful traditions and innovative educational methods emphasizes the balance between personal discipline and personal creativity. Academic excellence, we believe, is the result of a community of learners and instructors who seek not only to meet external expectations, but who develop and maintain internal standards of rigor, review and renewal. We dedicate our facility, faculty, and the resources of our larger community to stimulating and nurturing those learners, and are rewarded with pride in their consistent high achievement.
